Ayushmann Khurrana, hailing from Chandigarh, had his early upbringing in the city. He holds a master’s degree in Mass Communication from the School of Communication Studies at Panjab University. In his personal life, Ayushmann Khurrana tied the knot with Tahira Kashyap in the year 2011. Their love story dates back to their high school days, with their families having been close family friends. They both pursued their master’s degrees in Mass Communication at PU. Together, they are blessed with two children: a son named Virajveer Khurrana, born on 2nd January 2012, and a daughter named Varushka Khurrana, who was born on 21st April 2014. Tahira Kashyap, Ayushmann’s wife, is not only an author but also a lecturer based in Mumbai.

In terms of family background, Ayushmann’s father, Mr. P Khurrana, is an astrologer renowned for writing several books on astrology, which have been published by major production houses in the country. His mother, Poonam Khurrana, is a homemaker. Furthermore, Ayushmann’s brother, Aparshakti, made his debut in the entertainment industry after working as a radio jockey and TV anchor at OYE 104.8 FM in Delhi, and he gained prominence with his role in the movie “Dangal.”

Ayushmann Khurrana’s television career began at 17 with a Channel V reality show and gained momentum when he won Roadies season 2 at the age of 20. He started as a radio jockey at BIG FM in Delhi. His early success included receiving the Young Achievers Award in 2007 for hosting “Big Chai – Maan Na Maan, Main Tera Ayushmann” and the Bharat Nirman Award. Ayushmann Khurrana’s journey into the film industry began after he established himself as one of the country’s most popular VJs, eventually transitioning into a mainstream film actor. His inaugural film in 2012, titled “Vicky Donor,” not only received critical acclaim but also achieved considerable commercial success. Produced by John Abraham, who was making his debut as a producer, this romantic comedy, helmed by Shoojit Sircar, emerged as one of the standout movies of the year. The film revolves around Vicky Arora, a sperm donor, and his relationship with his Bengali girlfriend, portrayed by Yami Gautam.

Notably, Ayushmann also lent his voice to the song “Pani Da Rang” for the movie, an instant hit that earned him widespread acclaim and numerous awards at prestigious ceremonies. Co-composed by Rochak Kohli and Ayushmann himself, this song showcased his musical talents. Additionally, Ayushmann Khurrana secured the Best Debutant award for his role in “Vicky Donor.” Trade analysts unanimously recognized his natural talent, praising his ability to excel in both comedic and emotional scenes.

In 2014, Ayushmann signed a film with Yash Raj Films, featuring Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor in prominent roles. Directed by Nupur Asthana, Ayushmann showcased his musical talents once again by singing the song “Khamkhaan” with Neeti Mohan for the movie. However, the same year proved to be a turning point for Ayushmann’s career with his role in “Dum Laga Ke Haisha,” a romantic comedy directed by Sharat Katariya. This film not only solidified his position as a promising actor but also emerged as a box-office success. It garnered widespread acclaim for its compelling storyline and Khurrana’s performance, characterized as restrained yet highly believable. Despite a modest budget of 90 million rupees, the movie collected an impressive 301.9 million rupees in just five weeks. “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” also marked the debut of Bhumi Pednekar and went on to win numerous awards, including a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. Ayushmann Khurrana received critical nominations at several award functions in the same year, further cementing his status as a rising star in the industry.

In 2017, after a two-year hiatus from the silver screen, Ayushmann Khurrana made a remarkable comeback with a series of successful Hindi romance dramas. He began with “Meri Pyaari Bindu,” followed by “Bareilly Ki Barfi” and “Shubh Mangal Savdhan,” all of which received both critical acclaim and commercial success. Subsequently, in 2018, he starred in the crime-drama “Andhadhun,” alongside Tabu and Radhika Apte, which proved to be a resounding success and became the highest-grossing film of his career.

In the same year, Ayushmann took on the role of the elder son in the coming-of-age family drama “Badhaai Ho,” where an elderly couple expects a child in their late 40s. The film garnered positive reviews and achieved impressive box office numbers. His subsequent projects included “Article 15,” “Dream Girl,” “Bala,” and “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.” In 2020, he appeared in “Gulabo Sitabo.” Following that, he was featured in “Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui” (2021), “Anek” (2022), “Doctor G” (2022), “An Action Hero” (2023), and “Dream Girl 2.” Ayushmann Khurrana has consistently delivered remarkable performances and maintained his position as one of Bollywood’s most versatile and successful actors.
